Amritsar, March 7 (Dharmender Singh Rataul) – “Indian model of value-based school education is appreciated world over’’, this was stated by world renowned molecular scientist Dr. Bernhard Blumich, Chairman of Macromolecular Chemistry Department, RWTH Aachan University, Germany who is also Professor at University of California, Berkeley. He said imparting education without values is meaningless. This he stated during an interactive session with teachers at students at Khalsa College Public School (KCPS) here today.
He also updated on changing paradigm of education and importance of women empowerment to empower teachers. Another prominent Professor Jeffery Reimer, Chairman of Chemical Engineering Department, University of California, Berkeley, Karen Reimer, Special Educator and Gudula Segieth, also visited the school during this interaction. They were welcomed by Principal of the school Dr. Sarvjit Brar.
Prof. Jeffery Reimer said, “it is the duty of the teachers to recognize the capabilities of the students and then encourage them to excel in their chosen fields” while Dr. Bernhard stressed on values like brotherhood, harmony, peace among students. Karen explained the needs of the special children and how could a teacher teach them in their normal classroom. All the teachers were really enriched and motivated by the experiences of such eminent personalities, said Dr.Brar.
She while thanking the experts said such interactions with world renowned personalities go a long way in motivating the teachers to make their students `global learners’ with right values and positive attitude towards their fellow beings. She also congratulated all the teachers on the women day and said that women empowerment is the key to the growth and development of our country.
