Amritsar, April 26 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Department of Youth Welfare, Khalsa College Amritsar organised a four-day-long Inter-Faculty Youth Festival “Raunak-2019” at the campus in which the students exhibited their talent in diverse fields. Dr. Raminder Kaur, Head of School of Punjabi, GNDU inaugurated the festival while famous stand-up comedian Ramesh Minto was the special guest who were welcomed by Principal Dr. Mehal Singh.
More than 400 students participated enthusiastically in 28 events including dance, theatre, fine arts, literary and music, said Principal. The colorful functions marked the onset of various competitions which enthralled the audience. Principal Mehal Singh said that the festival isn’t just an assemblage of faculty and students but also a platform for sharing ideas and thoughts, promoting art and culture, while manifesting a zest of friendliness and liveliness among themselves.
The faculty of Arts and Humanities won the over-all trophy whereas Faculty of Sciences stood as first Runners-up and Faculty of Agriculture as second Runners-up. Harmandeep Kaur of MPA and Jagga Singh of Arts were adjudged as Miss and Mr. Raunak respectively. The College also honoured Samreet Kaur and Akshdeep Singh for their outstanding performance during the year. Bollywood Actor Mahabir Singh Bhullar along with Principal gave away the trophies to winner teams.
Prof. Devender Singh, Director Youth Welfare activities concluded by saying that such programs help students to polish their kills. Dr. Surjeet Kaur, Dr. Deepak Devgan, Dr. Nidhi Sabharwal, Dr. Randeep Singh, Dr. Harjeet Kaur,Prof. Guneet Kaur, Prof. Emmanuel Singh, Prof. Mehtab Kaur, Prof. Harmandeep Kaur, Dr. Jatinder Singh, Prof. Rozi, Prof. Sunil Kapoor, Prof. Gurpreet Singh, Prof. Harsh Salaria, Prof. Sawant Singh, Prof. Daljit Singh, Prof. Jasmail Singh, Ms. Samia and Prof. Anchal Arora were present.
