Tendulkar Trophy Concludes at DAV Public School

Amritsar, Dec. 25 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The novel initiative of DAV Public School , Lawrence Road to blend academic with co – curricular activities under the guidelines of CCE given by CBSE concluded amidst loud cheers with the Finals of the Tendulkar Trophy – Inter Section Cricket Tournament for Std IX held yesterday at DAV Complex, Amritsar . This was the second year of the tournament which commenced last year. The aim of this initiative was to develop values of team spirit, fair play, discipline , sportsmanship, co – operation , leadership etc. Much excitement was seen among the students as they competed and performed to their best , keeping the spirit of the game high. The final match was played between 9th – I and 9th – J . Std – 9th – J emerged Winners and 9th – I were the Runner up. Some scintillating shots and performances par excellence were witnessed during the matches.

Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road , Amritsar and the Manager of the school Dr.K.N. Kaul, OSD DAV University, Jalandhar congratualed the school for such an innovative step and said that such activities would help in the all round development of the students . They blessed the winning team for its fabulous performance. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school showed her satisfaction at the successful conclusion of the tournament . She encouraged the students and the teachers who have put in their best for the tournament. She added that the values learnt during the formative years go a long way in shaping the bright future of the students. Mrs. Reman Sharma, Supervisor Std IX & X under whose supervision the whole tournament was conducted applauded the efforts of the teams and the teachers. She said that sports level a positive outlet to the suppressed energies of the students which resulted in their healthy development . According to her many lessons of life are learnt on the playing field.
