Amritsar, April 13 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Exhibition begins with a facade set in tri-colour with Vande Matram as caption in dedicating to mother land.
There is a small enclosure in the beginning with an LED screen which will run films on various episodes of the freedom movement made by Doordarshan and Films Division where people can stand/sit and watch.
The panel exhibition comprises 45 panels. It begins with 15 panels dedicated to Jallianwala Bagh incident including excerpts from the newspapers of the time, letters of Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindra Nath Tagore etc. this also depicts the appeal made by the committee led by Mahatma Gandhi to fellow countrymen to donate generously so that the piece of land known as Jallianwala Bagh is acquired for National Memorial dedicated to the supreme sacrifice of peace loving innocent Indians.
The Exhibition then moves on to other important milestones of the freedom struggle under the caption “Azadi 72 Saal-Yaad Karo Qurbani” culminating into independence. Couple of panels are also dedicated to endeavours of Sardar Patel Sahab towards resolution of ‘deshi riyasats’ and their integration into Union of India which gives us the modern unified nation.
There is also a small stall of books from the Publication Division on freedom struggle and patriotism where the books are available for the people to see and also purchase.
