Amritsar, Jan. 26 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The day 26th January 1950 declared India as a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic. This day makes us proud of our rich culture and fills us with reverence for the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters who struggled for the freedom of the country.
On this occasion, the students of DAV Public School Lawrence Road prepared a special assembly to pay tribute to the freedom fighters of the country. The students sang patriotic songs and recited poems highlighting the selfless sacrifices that led us to breathe in free India. The students informed the audience about the importance of the day, how long debates, discussions and a lot of research led into the making of our constitution. In the end the students took a pledge to remove the darkness of ignorance, corruption, hatred and other evils and make the country a shining glory.
Regional officer Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar sent their best wishes to the teachers and the students on this occasion and asked them to salute the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and the leaders of the country.
Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school gave her best wishes to all the students and advised them to be sensitive to social issues and spread awareness against the evils present in the country. She also added that they should have a dream for their country and work hard to make it a real jewel on the world map.
