Kejriwal along with AAP leaders performs “Sewa” at Darbar Sahib

Amritsar, July 18 (Punjab Post Bureau) – National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with other party leaders performed “Sewa” (Voluntary Religious Service) in Darbar Sahib and cleaned utensils at a community kitchen.

Kejriwal reached Darbar Sahib at 3.40 am and like an ordinary devotee he along with other AAP leaders stood in the queue and paid obeisance at Darbar Sahib. Delhi Chief Minister also offered prayers at Shri Akal Takhat Sahib before leaving the premises at 5.45 am. “We have come here to apologize for our unintentional mistakes made in the Youth Manifesto, which might have hurt the sentiments of Sikh Community.” Kejriwal said while talking to the media and added it was a very satisfying experience visiting the shrine.

He said he also attained peace of mind while being at Darbar Sahib. Sporting a white handkerchief to cover his head and with folded hands, Kejriwal went around the shrine complex, offered prayers and later cleaned utensils at the ‘Langar’ hall, the community kitchen which serves food to over one lakh people in a single day. Others who performed ‘Sewa’ with Kejriwal included HS Phoolka, Kanwar Sandhu, Ashish Khetan, Jarnail Singh, Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Harjot Singh Bains and Baljinder Kaur.

Other Senior AAP leaders who accompanied Delhi CM included senior party leaders Sanjay Singh, Bhagwant Mann Durgesh Pathak, Gurpreet Bhatti, Sukhpal Khaira, Himmat Singh Shergill, Aman Aora and Kultar Singh.
