Amritsar, February 25 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Up Sabha, Punjab a grand function was organised by DAV Public School and BBK DAV College for Women at the Urvi Auditorium on the glorious occasion of Rishi Bodh Utsav. Rishi Bodh Utsav is observed as the day of enlightenment of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The day held great importance in the life of Swami Dayanand Saraswati as it eventually transformed him and later laid the foundation of the great spiritual movement, Arya Samaj which was founded in 1875.
Arya Ratan Padma Shri Punam Suri & his better half Mrs. Mani Suri along with other eminent guests was warmly welcomed at the premises of DAV Public School amidst the chanting of holy mantras. Before the celebrations commenced at the Auditorium, everyone participated in the holy Havan Ceremony at the school Yagyashala to invoke the blessings of the Almighty and pray for the upliftment of all. The function in the auditorium commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by DAV Gaan. After the welcome song, President APP Up Sabha Punjab Shri J.P.Shoor Director PS – I and Aided Schools formally welcomed all the guests and eminent personalities present. He congratulated Arya Ratan Padma Shri Dr. Punam Suri President DAV CMC New Delhi alongwith his better half Mrs.Mani Suri for the prestigious and distinguished award. He said that the award was a landmark to celebrate the sheer dedication and passionate endeavour of Padma Shri Dr. Punam Suri to take the brand DAV to the epitome of excellence. He informed that the coveted award has been bewtowed upon him for the distinguished service in the field of Literature and Education. He added that the vigorous and resolute perseverance, sacrifice and diligence of the great intellectual and scholar Padma Shri Punam has enabled to elevate and promote DAV brand to the epitome of excellence. He added that it was a momentous day in the history of DAV which would be written in golden words as the nation recognised the unparalled contribution, exceptional service and futuristic vision of the Supreme Commander of DAV who envisions seeing the nation among the developed countries with enlightened citizens empowered with values and education. Paying tribute to Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, he said that Swami ji had accepted Vedas to be the foundation for guiding him in life and as a rule of inner existence. Sh. J.P. Shoor further stressed that Swami Dayanand had always lived by the tenets of Arya Samaj and urged everyone present to imbibe those for the betterment of the entire human race.
The speech was followed by a melodious and devotional Bhajan which created a divine ambience. On this occasion, the revered and holy guests Swami Suryadev and Swami Chaitanya Muni were also honoured. They showered their divine blessings and talked about spiritual awakening. Their illuminating discourse was a feast for those seeking spiritual wisdom, guidance and deeper connection with the Creator. They imparted timeless wisdom in contemporary and practical teachings making self – mastery and inner peace attainable for all. Both the renowned exponents of Vedanta through their enlightened talk enabled everyone to restore their inherent divinity and assimilate all impacts from the outer world positively and thereby get elevated and expanded every time in the process.
The students of MKD DAV School presented a recital narrating the motivating and awe inspiring life of Padma Shri Dr. Punam Suri, President DAV CMC New Delhi which was followed by a short clipping of his visits to the holy city. Padma Shri Dr. Punam Suri President DAV CMC, New Delhi addressed the gathering. The audience was captivated by his mystical aura as he shared his dreams, programmes and social activities for the upliftment of all. He very humbly dedicated his award to each and everyone in the family of DAV and said that the path of success is always tough but those who are always ready to take challenges and have courage to win over it, only are awarded. While addressing the audience he urged all who are connected with DAV to take the legacy of Swami Dayananda forward who was an embodiment of spiritual practicality. Swami Dayanand was a Rishi with a special talent and regarded the Veda to be the ultimate sculpture of Divine knowledge, Divine worship and Divine action. He inspired and encouraged teachers to be that light in the journey of their students that shows them the path even when they have completed their schooling.
