Amritsar doesn’t need a private university; we need Central and World Universities – Aujla

Amritsar, Feb 19 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Issuing a press release DCC (Rural) president Gurjeet Singh Aujla advised cabinet minister and Sukhbir’s brother in law, Bikram Singh Majithia that Amritsar doesn’t need a private university anymore; however it is in dire need of Central University and World University along with medical institutes like AIIMS. Aujla said that if Sh. Satyajit Singh Majithia and Bikram Singh Majithia are so interested in providing quality and higher education to the border residents than why did they let go premier institutions like Centeral University (in 2007), World University (in 2008), and AIIMS which union government allotted to Amritsar. He further added that Majithia’s concern about Amritsar is also visible from the deliberate delay in approval and land allotment to SAARC Hospital, IIM, Software Technology Park and many other such projects. Aujla informed that almost 99% of Amritsar based software engineers are working away from homes as the SAD-BJP government is delaying allotment of land to Software Technology Park(Amritsar), the MOU of which was signed in 2013 between state government and the then Union Minister Sh. Kapil Sibal.

Aujla alleged that Badals and Majithias are playing gift and return gift games. Majithias gave Central University, AIIMS and other projects to Badals (their in-laws) in dowry and now in return Badals are gifting Majithias with Khalsa College, Amritsar. Aujla questioned that why Majithias needed to create a new trust when Khalsa College Governing Council and management committee were already there? Why Majithias molded Khalsa College’s constitution to accommodate non Sikh members in Trust and KCGC? Why the members of those families are not given permanent seat in KCGC and Trust who had donated lands and huge amounts for the establishment of Khalsa College? Explaining Aujla said that in a nutshell Sh. Satyajit Singh, Bikram Singh Majithia and Rajinder Mohan Singh can be termed as agents of RSS who are applying RSS’ agenda ruining Sikhs, Sikhism, Punjab and its institutions. He further alleged that the formation of this trust explains the game plan as trust is not covered under RTI and it also gets easy for the trustees to sell off or transfer lands owned by trust for other purpose which happens to be a heritage hotel in this case.

Aujla warned Badal-Majitha junta to refrain from anti Sikh and anti Punjab policies otherwise Congress under the command of Capt. Amarinder Singh will have to launch massive protests against government and especially Majithia family. He further advised Majithias not to fiddle with the constitutional rights of the elected Member of the Parliament, former CM of the state and former Chancellor of Khalsa College, who has all the rights to visit any of the institutions in his constituency without prior notice. He added that the fear psychosis created by Capt. Amarinder’s surprise visit to Khalsa College is quite visible from Majithia’s press statements. Aujla said that as soon as Congress forms government in 2017, this new trust created by Majithias to usurp Khalsa College shall be dissolved and KCGC will be made transparent so that any citizen could get any kind of information from KCGC through RTI or other channels.
