Grant of Rs. 43 lacs for GNDU University Business School

Amritsar, May 3 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Dr. Amarjit Singh Sidhu, Professor, University Business School and Coordinator of SAP of Guru Nanak Dev University informed the award of  grant of Rs. 43 lakhs by the University Grants Commission. The UGC has selected University Business School under Special Assistance Programme (SAP) at the level of DRS-I for a period of 5 years (01.04.2016 to 31.03.2021). The University Business School got a grant of 33.75 lakhs for five years to conduct research in the area of Sustainability Ethics and Social Responsibility of Business. The Department will also get an additional grant of Rs. 9.25 lakhs for five years to hire a project fellow for the collection of data and information for the thrust area. It is pertinent to mention that the University Business School has been separated from the Department of Commerce and Business Management just two years back. This grant has been provided to the University Business School in view of the contribution made by the University Business School in research and teaching. The importance of this project is due to the fact that this grant will provide opportunity to all the faculty members to work as a team for five years. This is the first stage which will definitely help the University Business School to get additional grant for level second and level third. This grant will help the University Business School to strengthen their infrastructure for research and development.
