Emotional performance of Tiny Tots of DAV International School brings audience to tears

Amritsar, Feb 29 (Punjab Post Bureau)- DAV International School, Amritsar, through the medium of a cultural programme participated by 500 students of Grade II, conveyed the message that in the safety and wellbeing of daughters lies the prosperity of a country. Secretary, DAC CMC, New Delhi, Mr. Arvind Ghaipresided over the function as the Chief Guest of the day. Mrs. RashmiGhai, Regional Director, Dr. Neelam Kamra and Manager Dr. Rajesh Kumar too graced the occasion with their kind presence.

The function commenced with sacred Lamp lighting. Principal Anjana Gupta extended floral welcome to the esteemed guests. In her welcome address, the Principal said that every child is special and has the right caliber which should be acknowledged and enhanced. She also said that such programs are quite helpful in improving their caliber and increasing their confidence. She said daughters are no less than boys. They too deserve the affection and care of parents. 500 students, through the medium of their cultural program entitled ‘The Light of Our Life’, expressed that in our society, girls are considered inferior to boys and are killed in womb. Considering them the burden of life,people insist them to get married at an early age and forbid them from education. They are tortured at in- laws house but the scenario is changing fast. Girls are no less than boys. Imagining a world without girl is impossible. The magnificent women of society e.g. Kalpna Chawla, Mother Teresa, Rani Jhansi, Saina Nehwal, Kiran Bedi too are daughters. They have proved that woman is versatile and play many roles at a same time. The Chief Guest Dr. Arvind Ghai was all full of praise for the small wonders of DAV International. He, in his presidential speech, said that male and female are an indispensable part of the society but the irony is that every man dream of beautiful life partner but hesitates to welcome a girl child. According to him, the need of the hour is to teach values to our children so that girls may get their rights. Mrs. Rashmi too appreciated the efforts and the confidence of the students. The occasion was also attended by members of Arya Samaj, Sh. Heera Lal Kandhari, shri Inderpal Arya, shri Praveen Kumar, Shri Rakesh Mehra, LMC member S. Satnam Singh, Principal Anita Menon and Parents. Principal Anjana Gupta honoured the Chief Guest with a token of appreciation. The day ended with national Anthem.
