CHIEF KHALSA DIWAN BUDGET 150 Crores IN 2016-17

Amritsar, Mar. 27 (Punjab Post Bureau)- A meeting of General Body was organized in Chief Khalsa Diwan Gurudwara Sahib to present the CKD budget 2016-2017 of schools, colleges and other institutions running under Chief Khalsa Diwan  Charitable Society. The meeting was presided by CKD President S. Charanjit Singh Chadha. Honorary Secretary Chief Khalsa Diwan S. Narinder Singh Khurana presented  CKD Budget 2016-2017 after putting a little bit light on the budget of past year 2015-2016. He highlighted that the budget which was Rs. 118,45,32,429 in 2015-2016 has increased now to Rs.150,66,74,440. And the overall increment Budget rate  is 27.19% S. Narinder Singh Khurana in his report commented that In the coming  year, 15 crore for Chief Khalsa Diwan University, 15 crore  for  new   CKD School of Excellence in Shubam Enclave, Amritsar  for the year 2016-17 only, 8 crore for new school project at Chandigarh,  RS. 3 crore for the development of existing CKD schools and colleges  are earmarked in the budget.

               Addressing the meeting, President S. Charanjit Singh Chadha stressed  the need of upgrading education level in Rural and border areas schools, he said that  amount worth Rs.2 Crore for the development of rural  and border areas schools and  Rs 3 crore 22 lac. for free education, books, uniforms, mid-day meal of  3 Adarsh Schools are  also kept reserved. He said that new school at Mumbai with furnishing cost of 95 lac is planned to be added in the splendorous achievements of Chief Khalsa Diwan. Another 1.50 crore for Nursary wing of G.T. Road school, 20 lac for the purchase of   traditional Tanti Saaz (going to be introduced in CKD schools), 5 lac for Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Niwas free Sarai in Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, 50 lac for competent national level training of CKD Hockey Players, 58 lac for religious activities of various CKD institutes   are kept aside for the said  purpose. Moreover the entire CKD records and documents since  its inception in 1902 to till date,  would be  digitalized this year.

               The new ambitious Budget was approved and appreciated by each present member there. It was considered to be conductive to the CKD further development. It was hoped that CKD Budget  2016-2017 will prove to be helpful in upgrading the  Graph of development and Prosperity of Chief Khalsa Diwan in the coming year. Vice President S. Dhanraj Singh, Resident President S. Nirmal Singh, CKD Local committee presidents of various locations and other  CKD members also graced the crucial meeting.
